About Us

Empowering Innovation to Build for Future Generations

HLDC Developments and Consulting was born from a vision — a dream carried by Alicia Morrow, founder of The Comeback Society and a lifelong advocate for Indigenous resurgence, community healing, and future-building.

After years of supporting Indigenous people through cultural programming, land-based education, and kinship-based projects, Alicia recognized a deeper truth: the decisions we make today can spark lasting change for generations to come.

Through her journey with The Comeback Society, Alicia built more than programs — she built a network of relationships rooted in kinship, trust, and a shared dream for something greater. She realized that by dreaming bigger — by refusing to accept the limits placed on Indigenous futures — it was possible to move beyond healing and into building: building land ownership, building economic sovereignty, building communities by and for Indigenous Peoples.

HLDC was created to take that spark and turn it into action — to move from programming to infrastructure, from dreams to developments. It stands as a company grounded in Indigenous values, built to reclaim space, restore prosperity, and lead a new era of Nation-led urban growth.

At HLDC, we believe the limit does not exist.

We believe in dreaming boldly, building carefully, and standing in full sovereignty.

We believe that urban spaces can — and must — include Indigenous-owned subdivisions where culture, economy, and kinship thrive side by side.

HLDC exists to walk with Nations as they build not just for today, but for tomorrow — and for every generation yet to come.

Core Values of HLDC

Led by Vision. Rooted in Community. Built for Generations.

1. Indigenous Sovereignty

We believe that Indigenous Nations have the inherent right to own, lead, and govern their lands, economies, and futures.

2. Cultural Integrity

Our work centers Indigenous knowledge systems, protocols, and worldviews at every stage of planning and development.

3. Ethical and Purposeful Development

We prioritize transparency, accountability, and long-term benefit in all of our projects — building with intention, not extraction.

4. Innovation with Tradition

We blend traditional Indigenous wisdom with modern tools and technologies to create sustainable, scalable, and relevant solutions.

5. Community Collaboration

We walk alongside Nations — never ahead of them — by listening deeply, building trust, and acting through relationship and reciprocity.

6. Capacity Building and Legacy Creation

We invest in people, leadership, and skills so that each project leaves behind more than buildings — it leaves behind empowered generations.
